SEE WHAT WE ARE UP TO!
SPEAKING LIFE, CHANGING LIVES
Stone of Hope Youth was born out of the idea that through consistent mentoring, the lives of at-risk youth can be positively changed. Our passion is to speak life and inspire youth, aged 11-17, to achieve more than they could ever imagine.
Approximately 11% of households in the State of Utah live below the poverty line, and a further 62% of students in the Salt Lake City Schools live in poverty. For students struggling with social and economic setbacks, they are faced with a challenging hurdle to access higher education and live out their potential.
Stone of Hope Youth provides weekly mentor sessions, monthly service projects, and an annual summer camp for disadvantaged students in our local school district in West Valley City. Our mission is to listen to, encourage, and guide, teaching the boys structure, team-building, and life skills thus guiding them to success. Our hope is that they will grow into young men who will positively impact their families and communities.
"With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
