Field Trips & Service Projects

At Stone of Hope Youth

  • Field trips are creative way to get students out of the school setting and into the city and nature. Many of the opportunities for field trip experiences our youth’s families may not have the time or funding to provide. It is our pleasure at Stone of Hope Youth to step and in and help provide these experiences.

Field trips are both educational as well as fun. Even a university football game, a fun experience, is a time to practice social skills and etiquette. Other field trips are more obviously educational, such as a trip to the local planitarium.

Some field trips are also a knod to summer camp with our youth out in nature and away from cell phones. It is usally somewhat of a physical challenge where they need thier teammates to encourage and help them along the way. These include an annual snowshoing trip as well as hikes throuhgout the year.

  • Our Service Days happen in conjunction with our Adventure Legacy Mentor Program to show disadvantaged youth the difference they can make and value they can bring to their communities.

Our program partners with other organizations throughout West Valley City, which provides opportunities for our youth to serve their community. Projects our youth participated in include: Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes, free hot cocoa and pictures with Santa, painting a mural at the local Animal Shelter, packing resources for Vial of Life, and building and planting the Stone of Hope Youth Community Garden. All garden produce goes to our youth's families. We want to empower our youth to be change makers and make their communities a better place. We want them to know the value of serving their neighbors.
